깊어가는 가을 다채로운 단풍잎의 색깔처럼 회원 여러분 모두의 학문적 결실도 다양하게 심화되어 가기를 기원합니다.

(1) 대만영미문학학회(EALA)와 공동세션 구성하여 영어영문학회 연찬회 참가

이제 2학기도 중반을 넘어 마무리 단계에 접어드는 요즈음 우리 학회에서는 국제적인 학문교류의 장을 마련하여 회원 여러분들을 초대합니다. 우리 학회는 12월 2일(목)과 3일(금) 한국영어영문학회가 대전컨벤션센터에서 개최하는 국제학술대회에 우리말 세션 1개와 영어 세션 2개를 구성하여 참가합니다. 특히 영어 세션 2개는 대만영미문학학회(The English and American Literature Association of ROC)와 공동으로 구성하였습니다. 한국과 대만 두 학회의 국제 학술교류에 즈음하여 대만영미문학학회 Pin-chia Feng 회장이 19세기영어권문학회 회원님들께 다음과 같은 인사메시지를 보내왔습니다.  저 역시 19세기영어권문학회와 대만영미문학학회가 공동세션 구성을 시작으로 왕성한 학문적 교류를 계속 이어가기를 바라며 이를 위하여 노력할 것입니다. 이번 학술대회에서 우리 학회가 구성한 구체적인 프로그램은 아래와 같습니다.

<The Message from The President of EALA>

Dear Members of The Korean Society of Nineteen-Century Literature in English:

It is my great honor and pleasure to write to you on behalf of the English and American Literature Association (EALA) of the Republic of China on this auspicious occasion in which our two associations co-organize two panels for the upcoming ELLAK conference.  I am sure our Korean colleagues are as excited as us here in Taiwan about this newly established model of international cooperation.
Please allow me to briefly introduce to you our association.  Founded in 1991, the EALA is one of the three major academic associations devoted to literary and cultural studies in Taiwan.  First and foremost, the EALA seeks to promote research and teaching of English and American literature locally and facilitate academic communications across national boundaries.  During the last two decades, the EALA has blossomed into a family of over 200 members.  Our official journal, Review of English and American Literature(REAL), published biannually, is included in the Taiwan Humanities Citation Index Core (THCI Core) list and among the top-ranked journals rated by the National Science Council.  
Upon assuming presidency in January 2010, I put high on my agenda the promotion of international academic exchanges of the EALA with other academic associations in the world.  As the EALA is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, this cooperative project between the KSNCLE and the EALA is an important landmark event and indeed the most precious present for our association.  I thank you for making this possible.  Please rest assured that President So-Hee Lee and I shall strive to work out other innovative projects to benefit members of both associations.  
Finally, I wish the ELLAK conference a great success and the cooperative tie between our two associations will continue to flourish for years to come.

(2) 『19세기영어권문학』 제 15권 1호 논문 투고

   『19세기영어권문학』제 15권 1호는 2011년 2월 28일 출간될 예정이며 투고논문의 마감 일자는 2010년 12월 31일입니다. 투고논문은 분야별로 투고요령에 따라 두 대표편집이사께 보내주시기 바랍니다.

  - 소설, 드라마부문 대표편집이사 김진경교수 (jkkim@stu.ac.kr)
    
(3) 평생회비 및 연회비 납부

   우리 학회에서는 학회 활동의 안정적인 재정 기반을 마련하기 위해서 평생회원 제도를 도입했습니다. 평생회비의 액수는 2010년 12월까지 한시적으로 30만원이고, 2011년 1월부터는 40만원으로 상향 조정될 예정입니다. 평생회비는 학회 계좌(하나은행 705-910020-94605 박하정)로 보내주신 후 박하정 재무이사님(hapark@wku.ac.kr)에게 연락주십시오. 또한 종전과 같이 매년 회비를 납입하고자 하시는 회원님들께서는 2010년 회비로 3만원을 입금해 주시면 감사하겠습니다.
